The Meeting
The ANZCNS 2nd Annual Scientific Meeting was held from the 3rd May – 5th May 2013 at Q Station, Sydney. It was attended by over 70 child neurologists, trainees and other professionals.
An excellent keynote lecture was given by Michael Buckley on the newer genetic technologies such as next generation sequencing and whole exome sequencing. Other guest speakers included David Thorburn (on mitochondrial disorders) and Brett McDermott (on psychotropic medication in neurology), to name but a few. Other programme highlights included the trainee presentations.
We also took time to honour our retired colleagues who have done so much to promote child neurology within Australia.
The feedback was overwhelmingly positive. The scientific programme was complemented by the conference dinner with some partying until the wee hours (with the Sydney chill ending festivities).
